Cornell Lab Of Ornithology: New Bird Identification Tool in Development

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology is building a new bird identification tool, and they need your help.  Using input from participants, they hope to assemble the best ID tool available.  Check it out and participate.

Help Us Build a Smart Bird ID Tool

The Cornell Lab has received a grant from the National Science Foundation to develop Merlin, an interactive online bird ID tool. Merlin will help people ID the birds they see by combining eBird data and artificial intelligence with input from real-life bird watchers. We're now asking people to help Merlin learn how you see, remember, and describe the colors of birds. Merlin will show you bird photos for five seconds, then ask which colors you recall. Try Merlin's Bird Color Challenge.
