Upcoming Webinar Jan. 10 1-3pm: Wildlife Forestry - Management of Hardwood Forest for Priority Species

Please find below conference details for the NRCS Biology Webinar, “Wildlife Forestry - Management of Hardwood Forest for Priority Species” on January 10th at 1-3 PM CST. Net conference details are highlighted below. The presenter will be Dr. Dan Twedt (Wildlife Research Biologist, USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center).  Dan’s research is focused on impact of forest management practices, forest restoration methods, and landscape context on forest and grassland birds. His work has contributed an improved understanding of bird responses to restoration and management of WRP wetlands in the Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley (LMAV). Equally important, Dan has worked closely with partners including the NRCS in the LMAV and elsewhere to integrate science into conservation planning. His collaborative publication, “Restoration, Management, and Monitoring of Forest Resources in the Mississippi Alluvial Valley: Recommendations for Enhancing Wildlife Habitat”, provides a blueprint for conservationists seeking to manage forests for multiple species groups. We will record the webinar and post it to the NRCS Biologists’ SharePoint Site and S&T Library, but those participating in the live webinar will have an opportunity to have their questions answered by the presenter. Please feel free to distribute this invitation to partners and cooperators. We hope that you will be able to participate and welcome your feedback on this and future webinars.
