Job Opportunity: Gulf Coast Prairie LCC Science Coordinator

The Gulf Coast Prairie Landscape Conservation Cooperative is looking for a Science Coordinator.
This position serves as the Science Coordinator (SC) for the Gulf Coast Prairie Landscape Conservation Cooperative (GCP LCC), and is supervised by the GCP LCC Coordinator through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), Southwest Region. This involves coordination with organizations throughout the GCP LCC conservation community to initiate, facilitate, integrate, and communicate LCC work and activities that address limiting factors affecting fish and wildlife and cultural resources. Work and activities relate to several primary functional aspects of Strategic Habitat Conservation (SHC) implementation and administration, including biological planning, conservation design, assumption-driven research, and monitoring/evaluation. The SC (1) works collaboratively with State conservation agencies, DOI bureaus, tribes, and other organizations committed to an ecologically sustainable landscape; (2) represents the interests of the conservation community in a variety of professional forums; (3) plays a key role as liaison among these agencies and organizations; (4) develops, maintains and advances strategic, landscape-oriented, science-based, partnership-driven integrated fish and wildlife conservation.
