Please join us for an interactive all-day session Oct. 24, 2012, to discuss migratory bird conservation at the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center Visitors Center in Maryland. Together, we will discuss bird conservation issues and priorities that will be incorporated into a science meeting to be held in November, a policy meeting to be held early in 2013, and the major Partners in Flight meeting in late summer or fall of 2013.

In addition to group break-out sessions, The Smithsonian Institution’s Peter Marra will discuss full life-cycle conservation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe has been invited to discuss multiple initiatives the agency is engaging in to conserve migratory birds, and ABC President George Fenwick will talk about the launch of ABC’s Migratory Bird Conservation Program. The director of this program, Andrew Rothman, will moderate a panel discussion to discuss the comprehensive approach needed to conserve grassland birds in Mexico, and will close the meeting with a discussion about organizing efforts to conserve priority habitats.
