Call for Abstracts: Southeast Partners in Flight Meeting

The Executive Committee of Southeast Partners in Flight encourages bird scientists and graduate students to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations for consideration for inclusion in the 2015 Annual Conference in Lafayette, Louisiana (3-5 November 2015).  All aspects of conservation of birds of the SE USA are acceptable including monitoring, research, management, and integration.  Due to the location and theme of this conference, we are particularly interested in wetland birds – wading birds, shorebirds, secretive marsh birds, etc. – but abstracts will not be excluded from consideration based solely on relevant taxa.  Researchers from all regions of the southeast, Mexico and the Caribbean, and those involved with any aspect of bird conservation, are invited to participate.

We request that abstract submissions for projects in development or with preliminary results be limited to the poster session.  Whereas, oral presentations should be limited to projects that have been completed or are nearing completion.  The SEPIF 2015 planning team reserves the right to change an oral presentation submission to a poster presentation (with approval from the submitting author).

Abstracts for both oral and poster presentations should be limited to 250 words or less, not including the authors’ names, titles, or affiliations (full details here).  The deadline for abstract submission for both oral and poster presentations is Monday, 14 September 2015.  Oral presentations will be 20 minutes (including time for questions).  If selected for the poster session, the presenter shall be present for the entire, allotted time slot for the session (approximately two hours; time to be determined).   Upon acceptance of abstracts, poster presenters will be provided with poster dimensions and acceptable method(s) of display.

Please provide your abstract submission in a word document as an email attachment (see attached) using your name for the filename.  Send to Michael Seymour at  Questions regarding this process may be directed to the same email address.
